Here’s the finished colors for the ALA donation piece I did last year.
Pretty accurate representation of your average library, I think.
Melville House has a terrific slideshow of WPA Posters about books and reading. (The Library of Congress has even more!) The art is inspiring enough; the sentiments behind it, even more so. A few of our favorites.
I love it when art and enthusiasm for reading/libraries combine.
I was recently asked to paint the library in my old primary school. This is what I came up with. It was so much fun! :)
